During trainings, I always ask participants to write something about their “growing-up” years. Some would just stare blankly on the wall. Some would just play with their pens. Some would just look up and stare. Some would tend to go to sleep.
But seriously, it is difficult to write something that is about us. Perhaps because we just let life go its natural course as we grow up. Perhaps because we need some time to really think which of the moments in our life are worth remembering or sharing. Perhaps because we do not want to share our lives. Perhaps because we hold some deep emotions in our hearts that we do not want to unearth.
Whatever the reason, I would say that it is difficult to write about ourselves.
I am going to tell you the story of my life not because there is something spectacular that I could share with you. It is because of my life’s ordinariness that may spark some bright light in yours. You may feel blessed where you are right now when you come to know the story of my life. I am writing this because I want to let you know that you are very special. I want to lift you up and let you say, “Thank you dear God for the life you have given me. I am quite blessed.”
I pray that at the end of my story, you and I would become good friends. You will pray for me and I will pray for you as I see your name reading my story or in the comments.
Let’s be friends this way. Welcome, dear Friend, to the story of my life.
