Be Thrilled

Playing by ear is something that I have mastered through all these years. Be it in music, at work, in raising my children, or in getting involved in activities. Playing by ear gives me the chance to get to know the thing better or to be more familiar with people and the environment.

I play the piano and guitar. But I never had the formal lessons. I play by ear. So when I opened a Music School in one city, I taught most of them to play by ear. Some though chose to read the notes and so I taught them that as well.

I compose simple songs but I never had the training. I play by ear. I listen to my heart for the lyrics and I beat with my soul for the tune.

I write like this; simple things. I never had the training as a writer and I don’t even know what kind of writing I am doing. But I write and I play by ear. I listen to the words from my thoughts and I drum them up with the beatings of my heart.

I have always been with HR. But I never had the training as HR Professional. I don’t know what style I had done. I play by ear and I listen with my heart. I see with my ears. I hear with my eyes. I cry with my soul.

I play by ear. I am not saying that what I am doing is okay. I am only saying that I play by ear. And because I play by ear, I have to pay so much attention; maybe a hundred times more than the experts. And because I play by ear, I have to bring myself closer to the ground. I cannot afford to stay up there otherwise I cannot hear the sound. And because I play by ear, I see from an ant’s point of view; not the bird’s. And because I play by ear, I have to master the music so I can play along in harmony.

I play by ear. I will always choose to play by ear. It thrills me. It excites me. I will play by ear.
